The sad reason behind Brigitte Macron’s distant behavior during her visit to the UK
The British publication Daily Mail has revealed the possible reason why the first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, had a cold attitude towards her husband, Emmanuel Macron, when they were caught getting off the plane that landed in the UK.
According to the publication, the reason is a sad one: her older sister, Anne-Marie Trogneux, died a few days ago, at the age of 93.
This essential information explains her behavior, which was described by commentators as “strange” and “cold”, especially when she ignored her husband’s outstretched hand upon landing.
“This is the main reason why Mrs Macron seemed so reserved and uncomfortable in her husband’s presence. Mrs Macron adored her sister and her loss has affected her deeply.
But she agreed that it was her duty to be in the UK, despite the fact that it coincides with a period of mourning,” according to a source close to the couple.
A second factor influencing her mood is that Mrs Macron has been under additional stress due to an impending trial in which four alleged trolls will be tried for allegedly harassing the first lady online.
The trial, which is due to begin on Thursday, will highlight numerous malicious allegations, including those linking Mrs Macron to paedophilia.
Anne-Marie died in the family’s hometown of Amiens in northern France, which is also where Mr Macron was born and raised. Mrs Macron, the youngest of six children, rushed to be with her sister before she died in the early hours of Thursday, July 3.
This comes after Mrs Brigitte lost another sister, Maryvonne Trogneux, in a car accident in 1961, when she was just 27 years old.
Mrs Macron also lost a brother, Jean-Claude Trogneux, at the age of 85, in 2018.
French President Emmanuel Macron suffered an embarrassing moment upon arriving in the UK, where he is on a three-day state visit.
As they disembarked from the official plane, which landed at RAF Northolt military base, west of London, Emmanuel Macron was the first to step onto the aircraft’s steps, greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales, who were present to welcome the French presidential couple.
As Brigitte Macron began to descend the plane’s stairs, the French President extended his hand, wanting to help her, but the First Lady preferred to hold on to the railing, walking past her husband without returning his gesture.
The captured images showed Macron lowering his hand, in a visibly embarrassed gesture, while Brigitte continued her descent towards the members of the royal family.
